Tlaloquitos Sahumerio – Día de Muertos Incense for Departed Children and Angelitos
Tlaloquitos is a tender handcrafted sahumerio created to honor children and young souls who left this world too soon.
According to Mexican folk tradition, November 1 is dedicated to the souls of children. On this day, ofrendas are filled with flowers, toys, sweets, and little gifts to welcome them home. This blend draws inspiration from the Tlaloques, spirits of rain imagined as the little loquitos of the heavens—guardians, bearers of life, and companions to departed children.
Sweet chocolate and fragrant guava bring a gentle, joyful character to the offering. Dried cempasúchil guides tiny steps with golden light; white copal creates a purified bridge between worlds; chamomile offers calm and motherly care; and clove surrounds the altar with warmth and protection. Other sacred ingredients remain part of the blend, kept in mystery to preserve its magic.
Ritual use:
Place a small amount on a lit charcoal disc in a heat-safe incense burner. Burn it on an altar or ofrenda, especially on November 1, and let the fragrant smoke become a bridge, a caress, and a lullaby. Accompany the offering with flowers, sweets, toys, photographs, or other loving remembrances.
